One more time from Italy, one more time from the island you might know about because of Sun & Bass festival: Sardinia. Dbox comes back in action representing the sound of ArpXP, by featuring a four tracker composed of both solo efforts and collabs. "Doubts" is a percussive dancefloor number with roots/dub influences: horns a plenty, echo-licious drums, a strong melodic footprint and a big fat bassline to complete it all. Intricate beats and wobbles are the main elements of "Modelno3": big synths and crazy drum fills scattered all over the tune are something you want and need when you have the temperature to rise up! To sweeten and nice it up then, here comes "The Smurf", featuring also Neeva on the buttons: happy melodic tones, and an almost hidden breakcore influence breaking down the riddim to tear the dance up. Dbox's Turin (Italy) based talent De Niro joins up forces with ArpXP for the latest one from the EP, "Shrd": electro analog-like bass patches, drum'n'bass reeces, and a stomping halfstep drum pattern are blended with a somewhat-oriental mood going on. Artist Bio:
ArpXP is a DJ, producer and graphic designer based in Cagliari, Sardinia. He began his career producing as a part of the SMOKE crew and after a couple of 12″ on Formation, Reformed and Signal he started his solo project releasing drumnbass tunes on Critical, IM:Ltd, Nu Directions, Modulate, Absys, and dubstep on Elastica (remixing ZION TRAIN) and more. His tunes are played and supported by djs like Sabre, Flight, Alix Perez, Nymfo, Von D, Need for Mirrors, to name a few. He’s a Sunandbass Festival resident DJ and in his career he played alongside DJs like Roni Size, Bailey, State of Mind, Data, Phace, Raiden, Chase & Status, Alix Perez, d:Bridge, Grooverider and many more.
