This is incredible :o Really inspiring stuff - love a bit of controllerism. The bit that kicks in around 30 secs is immense, what tune is that you've mangled into submission?

Nice man!

How are you using your keyboard to trigger different efx's in reaktor?

qwerty keys play as midi notes in reaktor (as does ableton), certain effects are assigned to different letters on the qwerty

I really don't 'get' things like this.. I hear acts and I am like "ok, thats nice, can you just play a track though?"

Its admirable thinking with my producer hat on, nice to see someone exploring sound manipulation and that..

But wheres the vibes, ya know?

i get what you're saying, bare in mind that this is just a quick 'do as much as we like in a short space of time for the sake of a video clip', to show off something we've been working on. i think you'll find that video's for most dj/performance technology seem to be similar i.e. a short constant of user input to demonstrate alot of what it does, but the reality is in an hour long live set those controls are not touched for 80-90% of the time, we tend to give our music alot more room to breath :D:

Man thats total opposite of me. Any monkey can play tracks, I enjoy shows a lot more when there is something other than a record with the expected bangers being played. The vibe is a turntabilist vibe, just because you don't "get" it doesent mean it not there.
Anyway I loved that vid, always nice to see the turntable being played as an insturment.

thats why i've become far less interested in standard djing. i enjoy it, but as time goes on simply hearing tracks being played doesn't quite do it for me like it used to.

Oh - dont' get me wrong, its wicked what you are (and loads of other people) doing and I appreciate it - in a production and performance kind of aspect! But I dunno, when I see a dj out live I just go there to hear tunes load - i'm not that fussed on technical aspects haha! (even if its all trainwrecks if the tunes are good I am happy!)

You can see a lot of work goes into it though, I doubt I could remember all those triggers and stuff haha! Whats the reaktor ensemble looking like? I'd be interested hearing about that!

First and foremost, big ups to the guys here - great work!

legend4ry, I agree with you - but I think it does has it's uses, when put in the right place. All the time gets tiring, kinda like a DJ who constantly scratches, but a DJ who scratches rarely throughout a set, it really adds to the vibe, rather than detract from it. Or an MC who won't STFU.
