Well seemingly, despite China being allied with North Korea, they are also rather concerned with North Korea's actions and want to maintain peace and stabilty in the area (or at least they say they do)... What concerns me more is South Korea being allied with America coz if it properly kicks off it could turn into USA vs China (in which case we defo are ALL fucked)
"We repeatedly warned South Korea to stop its dangerous war games. If the South continues its dangerous behaviour, Seoul will be the next target. It will be a sea of fire. Nuclear war could start at any point," said Kim Myong-chol, executive director of the Centre for Korean-American Peace. He said it was fair to describe him as speaking on behalf of the North's government

i like that he works for the 'centre for korean-american peace' and he's clearly a war-monger.

The US has enough firepower in south korea to take down North Korea in about 6 hours (not exaggerating).

If this escalates it's not going to end well for North Korea. Odds are we're going to put pressure on China to handle this one.... if we end up dealing with north korea china is not going to be happy. The last thing China wants is the US (or south korea for that matter) to have more of a dominant position in their backyard.

My guess is China speaks up relatively soon and North Korea gets put in timeout

north korea's like that little psycho at school who surrounds himself with bigger boys to make itself feel harder. he then goes and starts some shit on someone expecting its big friend to sort it out if it all goes wrong.

i reckon just as much propaganda is spread about North Korea as it spreads in its own country about the rest of the world

the place is the ultimate black mark country for everything, no economy/trade with the rest of the world, no media coverage, no level of diplomacy to speak of really, it makes sense for all the powers that be to want to create the worst image for it possible. not that i'd like to live there based on the possibility 'it might not be that bad...' since it probably is..

from the various bits of footage i've seen in various documentaries and the things i've read, it doesn't look to great. seems that in the 70's they did a lot of work on the place and its all gone downhill from there. lots of dilapidated high rise flats and weather worn roads.

Taiwan is the exact reason China will handle this. If South Korea (via US force) takes credit for bitch slapping North Korea, the balance of power shifts ever so slightly away from China and in China's eyes Taiwan starts getting bolder in some ways.
