I use it. It's pretty cool. There are a couple of issues I have with it, and what I think is a bug:
No multichannel support in Logic (may not matter to you)
Can't set loop to ping-pong back and forth.
Can't seem to easily add a new sample to one of the built-in 'cells'. To clarify, I mean I find it difficult to layer my own sample with one of theirs.
But really, it's very easy to use, has great sounds, and sounds great.
Not sure what out there is any better, I switched to this from EXS24, and I haven't looked back.

I would say that battery is ho hum, but its samples are great. I use the battery 2 samples just working in straight audio in cubase. It's my preferred method.

huge fan of battery3 here!
very intuitive and user-friendly, i especially love the realistic 'stroke'-variations you can apply to a hit/sample

i did buy battery 2 when it first come out,(duinno what 3 is like).... after a while of using it and gettin my head around it, i always made my beats in the audio channels in logic along with comp & eqing.....
after a while battery seemed bit pointless to be honest but its good software.... shit load of samples!
now battery is off my comp n in the back of the wardrobe

o yeah defo got top quality samples for real..... use some of em all the time! but reason why i stopped using it is cos of the extra work involved also didnt the buzz i get out of makin a beat the way i do using the audio channels

just upgraded from battery2 a month ago, i'd definitly recommend it!
especially the improved effects-unit does it for me. browsing - a big pain in b2 - was improoved as well. even runs on my 887mhz g4 despite the 1.4ghz at least required according to NI - well, as i don't do big reverbs

the samples are ok as well, heaps of percussion etc.
i think there's a demo available on the webpage

you have to rename the battery 3.dll to battery3.dll if you dont your projects wont open all the time and youll have problems...
