anyone incorporating this with their music making?

and if so, which game boys are you using? is there a noticeable difference in usability between the original gameboy and the sp or ds or whatever?

Not really a gameboy, but I've been doodling a lot with nanostudio for Iphone and you can get some pretty decent results..
here's some tracks I made on it:
Soundcloud
Soundcloud

Keep in mind that those are made on an Iphone..so yeah it's not gonna be the best of mixdowns and shit but you can have ALOT of fun with nanostudio :D

Goes to show that a talented producer can make tracks on limited software/hardware. All these ableton vs cubase vs fruity etc threads don't get it.

I've wanted lsdj for ages. Gotta buy one, even though im expectating it to be pain in the ass to use. Well at least you can use keyboard with it.

I'm not sure there's a difference with Nanoloop because it uses its own hardware inside the cart as opposed to the channels on the Gameboy like LSDJ...so the only difference would be in the speakers, which wouldn't be getting used anyway. I could be wrong on that though.

I really want Nanoloop, but I just don't have the money. I have LSDJ and keep meaning to buy a cart for it, but again, no money =/ *

*edit: just checked, and cartridges are about half the price they used to be and use USB now (even a year and a half ago, they didn't)...gonna buy one as soon as I get a Paypal issue sorted. Nanoloop is still crazy expensive though.

i'd have to double check for nanoloop when it comes to using the different generations of gameboys so could be wrong

AFAIK Old grey gameboy has noticeable better audio output (louder), so sound - noise ratio is better than with newer models. It was explained that the color screen of newer gameboys use more power so less power is given to audio output or something like that. Dont know about pocket though.

But with Nanoloop you bypass the gameboys sound engine.

I've heard Pocket has power issues and actually needs to be connected to an AC adapter in order to run some flashcarts

nanoloop is $85....

then the game boy....i don't have mine anymore. it was the ones that came out after the old gre....the black, red, blue, green, yellow etc.

i think it was broke anyway....

so i'd have to shell out for one. old grey's gonna be on e-bay. but hell...maybe i'll just get one of these new generation ones.
