Hey guys, the name's Magnum, and I've been lurking around this forum for a while, but have never posted simply because this place seems so huge, and that always scared me off. But now, the size of this forum may be helpful.. I am making a dubstep documentary of sorts, and I need people's opinions on what they think are some of the most important dubstep producers out there. Dubstep is such a broad genre, and I know that people are very picky about what artists they like, so I'd like you guys to each tell me the top 10 dubstep artists that you think are the most important. Not necessarily the best, but the most influential.
I'm trying to cover artists all the way from the more minimal sounds of the past to the "filth" of today, so try to keep that in mind.

If you guys have any questions about the documentary, please let me know and I will try to answer them.

theres still a lot of labels pushing that sound, its just given less attention by the mainstream.

Sorry for not being clear, I understand that the more minimal, bass heavy dubstep is still alive and well today, I just meant that when many people think of dubstep now, they think of the screechy, wobbly stuff.

Nah - thats just people who have known about the sound for a hot minute. If anything, most of this forum is much more about the kind of stuff Hessle, Swamp81 and Deep Medi are doing. .


Anyways, what would be nice if you referenced Dub Files & Bass Weight (the two main dubstep docs) and see what they covered and try and bring us artists what haven't been covered on that (as well as 'catching up' as it were with some of the main people).

Would be nice to see Distance, Cyrus, Tunnidge, Headhunter, Silkie & Quest. Also checking out some of the crews putting on sick nights like Dubpressure, Mindstep, Subloaded and such.

Oh, that's good I'm a fairly big member in the YouTube dubstep community, and it's quite a big difference than being here, because most of them listen to the screechy stuff. It's nice to be around people with different tastes, though.

And yes, that would be nice. Sadly, I won't really be able to do any big interviews like the other documentaries have.. I'm just a kid that wants to spread knowledge of dubstep's history and possible future, so I don't have many means to actually meet up with any producers.

whatever them youtube people like, I'm guessing you're probably as much an expert on wubbles as anyone else on this board
