we decided not to do that award this year. hope all you promoters out there aren't too disappointed but it was an award that didn't translate all that well internationally, or even outside of local regions, because with the exception of a few events most events are local affairs

that award is basically for the kind of stuff you'll find in the house? forum here. so basically the dubstep mutations that are operating on the fringes of dubstep/house/uk funky/garage/grime/whatever. we had lots of discussion on quite what to name that award but that was the best option without having to pinpoint a name on a type of music that at the moment doesn't really have one
