What sampler does everyone use?

Hey, i'm currently using kontakt as my sampler but i'm not too keen on using it. The interface isn't very intuitive, and i'm constantly looking up how to do things on it - it took me ages just to find out how to adjust the pitch bend range. Also i'm not too impressed with the filters. Are there any good alternatives anyone can recommend?

FL Sampler for the hits, Fruity Slicer for the basics, Slicex for the complex, drag & drop the waveforms direct if I want to do anything else.

Although when I did use Kontakt, I always thought the manual was really well laid out in terms of finding out how to do stuff?

short circuit, groove agent one in cubase, audio lanes, in built features in renoise, or my akai
kontakt 2 was the last version i used far as that goes, dunno what they've add or modified, but it was pretty straight forward and a quick browse in the manual answered most of my questions

ESX24 or Kontakt 4 here.

Think Kontakt is regarded as the industry standard, might be wrong.

i like kontakt, just for the most part it's a bit overkill for what i need out of a sampler and till i build a new rig gotta save those resources -w-
though i do remember trying 3 and sticking with 2
i'll prolly give 4 a go someday

From what I have seen from 4, it offers nothing more than a GUI overhaul and new library compatibility which is why I'm sticking with 3 until a newer version offers me something I may need.

Its a bit swifter, way less load on the CPU than Kontakt 2. But yeah not much diference between Kontakt 3 and 4. Except Kontakt 4 comes with tons and tons of lovely soundbanks

from what I've heard, Kontakt 4 is a bit lighter on resources than 3...but it might be the same as 3.5 to be honest, as everybody said that ran a lot better than 3.0

Kontakt is good, but it does have a pretty finicky interface; putting the LFOs and modulations at the bottom and separating them from the parameter they're modulating (but still keeping the modulation amount right near the parameter) is an example of it being kinda illogical. the grouping is also really unintuitive, that's probably my only major complaint. i do wish it had better transient detection for beat slicing, but that's just me thinking that the industry standard should be the best at everything -w-

Shortcircuit is amazing for something that's free. It's a shame version 2 never got finished, as it's even better, it's just buggy as hell and not worth it. Still though, version 1 is pretty great, supposedly has the most accurate audio engine out of all VST samplers (maybe the discodsp one was better?), and has a much more logical interface than Kontakt (grouping is super easy, complex modulation is way easier, etc). for electronic music production, it'll do everything you need. it's free, so i recommend checking it out (version 1, not the version 2 beta). I can't say I like it more than Kontakt, but I can say that I like it just as much :5:

Usually just drag and drop waveforms directly in FL, will sometimes use the NN-XT in reason, I don't really have a big need for anything fancy when it comes to samplers.

just reasons samplers, nn-19 or the nn-xt, depens what i need to get done. But I prefer using audio :)

shortcircuit, its free and works like a charm. one of the most underrated pieces of free software around imo

Most of the time I am dropping waveforms right on the timeline and moving them around. If not:

Software:
Ableton Simpler
Ableton Sampler

Hardware:
Akai MPC2000
E-Mu SP1200
