I'm completely new to the electronic music scene all together (only been into it for a few days). After hearing some dubstep today I decided to try my hand at making my own. It's only a 6 second clip, but I'd like some feedback on it. Maybe gimme some tips? Let me know if I'm headed in the right direction? Etc etc. Thanks.

stick to it man. use ni massive. amazing for wobble. also whore the youtube tutorials man and keep your head down.dont worry so much about your mixing and levels untill after you done a track. for a bassic wobble keep your filter cut off low and try automating it (changing the synced speed or rate) keep at it man and dont give up jeulzzz

If you just heard Dubstep for the first time today you may want to just chill and listen to some more tracks before you start trying to make your own. Let it sink in a little bit.
In terms of feedback, there isn't that much there to feedback on. You should check all the stickies in the production forum. There's a lot of info there.
Also, what tracks did you hear today?

I heard some 16bit, some Skream and a bunch of unnamed tracks featured in a number of YouTube videos. Dubstep Santa 1 & 2 and some a bunch of those "this is how you dance to dubstep" videos, rofl.

first of all before diving into the world of dub, u need to know wats good dub and wats bad dub..cuz the dub uve seen so far is good but u need to look at sum of the main big hitters of dubstep b4 u get lost in santa dubs and mt eden.. listen to sum essential mixes.. of course shambula 2010.. or excisions bbc radio 1 mix is one of my favorites.. listen to sum excision, datsik, downlink maybe throw in sum cookie monsta with a lil caspa and top it all off with level 67 - fistfucker

only then will u begin to understand the way of the dub

That is a great tune. You should copy paste those bars a few dozen times and send it to Hotflush.

Anyway, here's my second dubstep attempt. Other than the length and arrangement, thoughts? I think it's definitely a big step in the right direction as opposed to my first attempt.

i have no idea what you're trying to do. that sounds like fx from a 60's horror film. which can be good but judging from the tunes you have heard that's probably not what you're after. i suggest you learn a few basic things about production and making music first before you contribute anything in the internet. never give up
