The tutorials I've seen for wobble bass all require you to make an "Operator." Ableton won't let me create a new operator...Any idea why not?

Let me rephrase, it forces me to instead make an already edited operator under the operator menu, it will not allow me to drag the word "Operator" into the playing area to create a blank operator.

Yes, that shows all the oddly specific operators...the videos I've seen all have the user dragging "Operator" by itself into the area, it creates sort of a blank operator that just plays a sine wave ripe for editing. My question is how do I make a blank operator?

Are you using Ableton Live Suite? Or Live Lite or Live Intro?

It should allow you to drag Operator (before you open the folder to see the presets) to a midi channel, when you do - it should be blank

I would make sure Ableton is updated to the most current version, and your Mac OS is as well.

If that doesn't work, contact Ableton's tech support.

That's funny considering I figured out the problem. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to accuse everyone.

so what was the issue?

all i can think of is that you've over-written the default one...

I was trying to drag the operator directory instead of the actual operator device, rofl.

skills, although where it says operator and has the arrow to open up it's presets is the synth itself and can be dragged into project/double clicked into it. so still a bit confused why you've had an issue.

I don't know why either, but when I click on the second button next to the device browser, I think it's called "Live Devices" or something, I'm able to use the operator from that menu.

yeah cos that's the menu that operator is inside, it should be 'live devices' which contains analog, operator, drum racks etc..., then you have 'midi effects' then 'audio effects' and you can expand each of those to get to the stuff inside. i'm just confused as to where else you could have an operator bit?

screenshot plz if you can.
