If someone constructs me the bass sound for Skrillex's 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' then more presets are going up.
Hope you enjoy.
FORMER POST:
Alright, I'm well aware that this is gunna piss people off, and as much as I don't want to piss people off, I am desperate.
I've been trying to make Doctor Ps squeely high-pitched lead on NI Massive but not managed it.
I've tried detuning/resampling/ring-mod/pitch-mod/bitcrusher/sample & hold... etc, etc.. the list goes on.
A lot of people claim to know how to make that noise so I thought, if someone can send me a preset then I will repay them by giving them 20ish Datsik/Excision/Skrillex/Downlink, etc, presets from my NI Massive preset library.
I think this seems like a fair bargain.
Now my email address is punky_dan@hotmail.co.uk so you can send the preset there. If it's any good then I'll send you my presets back straight away.
I'm not going to backstab/scam or whatever, I'm honestly going to send you presets back. [I'm trying to get an okay reputation in the Dubstep game.]
Now I don't want this thread to turn into 'that sound sucks, I hate it, go and jump off a building brostep cigarette' kinda thing because that's the norm for Doctor Pee Pee related threads, even though that probably will happen.
So if you want my presets... please help me out!!
Soundcloud
My soundcloud has some examples of what I'm offering.
THANKS.

It's a tragic state of afairs don't you think?
[Seriously though, if you have another means to making the sound like a free VST then I'll happily accept that + preset.]

I dont use vst synths, only Reason synths, surely with all this experimenting and resapling you mustve come up with something unique/worth using?? Maybe you hadnt even noticed because you're so 'desperate' for Doctor P's sound.
Im not trying to be rude here, so please dont think i am, just saying is all.

I have massive but I never use it.
Seriously, I would just kick up Operator. Set it high, detune it with an lfo with rate at 1/16 - 1/32 maybe more but not heavy on the amount of wobble.
That would probably get the job done with some tinkering here and there!

Well if you've got evidence that you can make the sound and are trustworthy then sure.
I'm not messing around here kid.

Thanks for the production tip matey but I'm after a raw preset, I've spent way too long tinkering!

Nah it's all good. I'm used to the tough-love of DSF so it never crossed my mind that you were being rude.
In the process I've made a stack of nice sounds but just haven't managed to get exactly what I wanted... which is frustrating so I decided to turn to you guys.
Thanks for the response though, wise words for sure.

Haha, being a graffiti artist I appreciate the 'toy' expression.
But I'm not worried about biting someone elses style, I just want that sound.

now i don't know how to do that sound, BUT how about sharing the presets with everyone once someone gave you the preset? that way everyone would love you forever (if they're good, that is)
i'll start tinkering now, got pretty close to funcase's dentist drill lately with massive but then thought "wait, why would i want that sound?"

Haha alright then, I'll put up a fair amount of my presets if someone can give me the Doctor P one.
That might encourage someone to cough it up. :L
What's this Dentist Drill sound then?
Link an example?

or more extremely:
i've used fairly complex wavetables (cant remember which ones), searched for a sweet noisy spot that's still remotely tonal, added up 2 of them and a simple square, cranked up the noise on "hi-metallic", color all the way up and ran it through some waveshaping. play extremely high notes -> enjoy the ear rape. i really had to stop after a while because my ears hurt (maybe i overdid the whole screechy/noisy part)
it wasn't a 100% replica but it was close enough for people to call me a biter if i used it in a tune

Ooo what a naughty noise. Haha, it's not quite what I'm looking but close... I've always thought Doctor P does the squealing sound better than Flux P.
the got 2 know one is SPOT ON! brilliant stuff. i'd still never use it seriously but you definetly replicated that one 100%.
phase AND ring modulation! dude i took a whole different approach man, hats off to you!
