Always been into dubstep, just got into mixing it.
Wanted some tips from guys that have been mixing for a while, I just did a quick small mix, any constructive critisism would be nice.
Soundcloud
I've just been using the equalisers and the crossfader, is there anything else I'm missing? I've been teaching myself from day dot.

It's my shorthand, I wholeheartedly apologise if you didn't realise I meant dubstep and not dub/reggae, being posted on a dubstep forum and all.

I shall probably continue to call it dub when I please, but to help your confusion over the matter I have editted my post.
Did you listen to the mix, or did you just post solely to point out the fact I put dub and not dubstep.

I'm listening to the mix now, but seriously dont call it "dub" it will just prove you're new and you'll get flamed.. dubstep is the genre dont be one of the people who are like "YO LOL THIS RIGHT HERR IS KRUNKSTEP YUUUU"
**Quick edit** I like it, but you're really only fading in and out.. you need some structure and etc.. check out
http://www.youtube.com/ellaskins he taugh me alot in just general mixing.

What people jumping in to point out flaws and mistakes others have made so that it makes them feel better that they've corrected someone? Seems to me people want to show how much more they're into dubstep than others, "hey look someone that hasn't mixed dmz, clubroot or instinct, they're new, they're into brostep"..
This is annoying as I'm a big fan of most dubstep, even older stuff, I just prefer the way more modern dubstep is going.
and -boring, sorry if I've disrespected the "dubstep gods" oh nooooooooooooooo
I've corrected my first post and it now reads dubstep, and "bad pop music", sorry but: 140bpm, emphasis on the bass, shuffling beat.. sounds like dubstep.
Just because I prefer a new style of dubstep, doesn't mean you have to show how "cool" and "old skool" you are by mocking it, yeah you may prefer darker stuff, but keep that to yourself I don't care.

I was actually calling Widowmaker pedantic. Frankly your calling your mix "dub" and not "dubstep" doesn't bother me in the slightest 'cause, imo, that's one of the dumbest things on earth to actually get pissed enough to actually criticize. But hey, like I said, dsf is a haven for pedantic mother-hen wannabe's, this thread just proves that fact further(again, looking at Widowmaker).

LOL, I already said I don't care about your opinion if you're just trying to prove how awesome you are. I'm hardly crying, nice predictable remark.

You need to calm down and come up with something a bit more imaginative, or just don't bother at all. You're laughable.
