if you are doing it for free do some speculative stuff for labels / artists you like or with decent profiles then send it to them
just call it a 'pitch for teh branding of *whatever label lol* when showing someone.

I'd like to ask for your services, I have an image I need 'stylized.'

I used to toy around with CS2 prior to my 1st HDD failing and I even had a graphic artist come into my life at one point; but I don't believe in free services and I'm willing to offer whats in my paypal account, which is ~dollar. I have the meat and bones of the image I just need someone to give it depth as per my instructions and I'll let you have artistic freedom on one of the attributes of it, just so you can say that particular portion was your idea when you present your portfolio to others. (Consider it a mutually beneficial collaboration of sorts.)
