So many good memories of that place, it feels like a second home!
So sad to see it go :'(
I still remember the first time I walked into that place was one of the best moments of my life.
Even spent my 18th birthday there.
So many special memories tied to that place, but looking forward to what the future will hold!
Big up all at West Indian Centre, Exodus, Subdub, DMZ, Sweet Potato, All DJs I've seen there and all the people i've met and/or shared memories with there!

mate im so gutted about that aswell, just like you that was the first real place where i felt dubstep, n specially all the good times rattlin about on the stage lol, but what made it reaaaaly long was that im in sweden now, n i didnt even get to give it a propper send off, i dont reckon subdub will ever be the same (not sayin it wont still be good) but for all the heads you used to go there alot i just wont be. ive heard aswell that the new venue will be near beaver works??? anyone know of this...if so thats a longy, west indian centre used to be chill, cause its not even that far from hyde park.
Anyways heres to all the good/messy times at windian centre!

yea mate, honest, everyone i know in leeds is sayin it, new years was the last one, pretty sure they announced it on the night or a bit before, subdub/exodus will still roll on as usuall, just a different venue, someone said beaver works, but i reckon they meant near beaver works, so cud be some old warehouse.

Gutted - and I only went twice, ever, but LWIC was the place. I'll never forget those times I went as they rank amongst the best nights I've been to, with the best soundsystem that I've experienced (so far)

Yeah definitely. NYE was the last one - it's gonna be at VOX warehouse from now on I think from the description of the new venue on the facebook page.
Modern Amusement is also there and the line ups for that look great

This is gutting, my first place for a proper night out. Remember turning up for the first time and it was not anything like I expected, looked like a place where a school disco would be held lol but it was an absolutely awesome night. Never failed to provide.
Has definitely been a bit too crowded recently though so hopefully the move will sort that out a bit.

hey,
just to clarify, subdub and exodus are moving to a new location...

photos here

still the same sound system and vibes and decor, still plans for a food and a chill out room too.
more will be said in a full announcement.
The move was down to ongoing sound complaints which could have lead to a hefty fine.
west indian centre has had 10 years of my life and it will be missed, i assure you this next club is amazing.
nye was a crazy send off for the west indian centre big up everyone that came down and raved!
more info coming soon.

harsh times, not made it to subdub for a few years now cos i moved but remember doing new years there when james brown had just died and being in the main room at midnight when they started spinning

easily one of the best new years i've had.

That's because the food they sold was actually decent... rice and peas or jerk chicken curry? Beats a dirty kebab...
Best venue I've ever been to in all respects anyhow!

Great venue. Glad I got to rave there a few times as it's definitely historic. But the new venue looks really nice, so long as the system is still as loud as ever then it doesn't matter! Plus this new place has 3 rooms yeah? Hopefully more space for skanking.
Don't think it's going to know what's hit it when Irration and Mala bring the bass weight.

will go down in dubstep history as a pioneering venue holding pioneering nights. but i think its good the promoters are thinking forward and not trying to hang on to what they have. they are experienced enough to know how to make the night better despite the venue change. everythings gunna be gravy

Ha im sure no-one doubts Simon Scott when it comes to putting on a night, wherever it is.
As much as it was a seminal venue for arguably the best dubstep/dub night in the world, things move on, and who knows, VOX could well turn out to be better

Windy always had vibes, atmosphere, the best line-ups and crowds I've personally ever experienced (shame I never got a bash on the decks!

). I wish that it was more publicised that NYE would be the last one so I could have gone but oh well.
Heres to the future anyway

as many have above mentioned, banging nights will surely be missed from tha west indian centre, seeing the iration manz with their fat grins as you waltz in.. the only room that dingyness is positive, the connection of tha Selector and his dancers and the vibration of de bass.. make me weak at tha knees (;
Best wishes to all involved in the nights Exodus, Subdub, DMZ and the many more! On to new ventures! For tha Greater dub.
