So i was wondering with Planet Mu about to release 3 big dubstep 12"s and getting more involved in the scene, who on here listens to the other stuff on Planet Mu???

yeah.. one of the most consistnetly forward thinking labels around.. moving with the times and forming them. and no stylistic restrictions.

Venetian Snares is my favourite mu artist.

he's released 9-odd albums of virtually unlistenable breakcore in 7/5 time signatures, then produces an album of stunning musical skill and beauty, "Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett"... that pretty much sums up the last 10 years of electronic music for me!

plus he's got massive dreads!

there's so much other good stuff on mu that paradinas has uncovered, it doesn't surprise me that he's really into dubstep as well...

Definitely going to be a big year for Planet Mu, and it looks like it may be a decent year for Rephlex too.

I've only posted on here a little bit but it seems to me that people on here all seem to be into more than just dubstep. Which i think is great for the music and the scene itself...

I tried, I really did. They have their style down definately, but I've never really dug it. Too IDM-y for me.

planet mu is one of all time fave labels ... did any get the dolphin and technoist 12? amazing !! pleasant gabba... good doins, mu have got a lot of good things comming this year!

Is Planet Mu run (or was it ever run) by Mu-siq (I dont have the right keyboard to put the funky letter he uses instead of the M and u) also previously known as Jake Slazenger (when making house)??????

Yes its run by the man himself. Think he even released a 12 on that label last year.

They got 2 new promo Mu releases in today at Boomkat. Looks interesting....

µ-Ziq's stuff always done my head in as well. Some of the stuff he released on Virgin was pretty bad. Pity, cause his first album was an utter stunner. There are some good tracks on the new album - the opener is a belter, but then he always fucks them up halfway through with those dumb basslines he uses.

Do you mean Tango n Vectif? Fuck me how long ago did that come out? Saw him play a couple of times back then, once in a pub in Finsbury Park and maybe Astoria - good times I recall

Tango n' Vectif was... 1993 I think. Yeah, back in the day. That and the remixes of The Auteurs he did are his best efforts by far.

Seeing him in a pub doing a T n' V set would have been ace. I was only 12 at the time though, and probably not even able to see over the bar, let alone get served.
