Since the I discovered the rush hour repress of Virgo's self titled LP I've been searching through the Trax records catalog and found some great stuff so thought i'd star an appreciation thread and look for suggestions at the same time!

I could go on for days about this stuff , my first 'dance' music experience was getting pilled up back in 88 while visiting my cousin oxford and going to some random rave and hearing this , i was sold.
I love that they re-pressed a lot of this stuff and mastered it properly , i have some of the originals and they sound shite.
Brilliant label and should not be mentioned without mentioning Jack Trax and D.J International which also have some serious back catalouge

I think so , I have it on 'BCM' don't think that's the original label though

Larry Sherman has since admitted many times that he used to press over old records in the early days of trax!

Are the originals not even worth bothering with then?

depends if you want to play them out or just have them sit in your collection. remember lots of people are collectors ahead of djs, hence the prices on discogs
to be honest, i would happily do the latter for washing machine or girls out on the floor
though all the good stuff is also mostly on those jack trax compilations which are all worth checking out, or on mp3s release
seminal

If you can find them, I dont know exactly how many were dodgy presses, but as pat says if youre a collector, theyre a great addition.
I remember these being re-pressed in the late 90's in mass numbers.

big at spectrum.
housenation came out on dancemania in 86 and trax in 87 and reached number 8 in the mainstream uk chart
I've been going back and listening through their catalog...There is some downright amazing stuff in there!

check out early dancemania as well
they were on this tip too when they started out before stuff got really dirty (though obviously i love that era as well)

perhaps a little obvious but, nevertheless, a seminal / life-changing moment...
where would we be without it?

I picked up this compilation recently, and it is just sooo good.
