in 2 weeks kode9 is coming to play here in switzerland. i would love to hand him over a plate (as i did when mala came).
unfortunatly i'm quite broke and can't get work because i'm in the middle of my exams. so i thought, actually more of joke to post on facebook a status calling out all people to donate money so i can cut a plate....

a (not really close) mate of me then replied he would pay 30 bucks if 4 others also donate.... now the second one is going to donate....

somehow this profoundly touches me - people actually donating for this! people actually caring for someone who's on his way producing music and getting it out... such a good feeling to get this... i hope another 3 people will donate so this will work out. and if not - hell: this proves to me that mankind isn't always an egoist.

How much is each plate? I'll definitely donate for one, but If no one steps up for the rest, I'd be willing to loan you the money to pay for those, if you're intereted in doing that

but i don't want a loan! seriously! because last time (malas plates) i was quite heavily in depth and i still am... well i'm doing it for the first time @ transition because the last 2 times i mastered/cut i wasn't very happy with the result!

i'm right now checking out how much it would cost. i'm planning to do 2-4 dubplates and i won't keep any of them, all give-aways for kode 9 and maybe 2 others who are coming to switzerland (And i can't name them because it's not yet official)

Sucks about the debt, can definitely understand that. My offer to pay for one plate obviously still stands though

well - that's my mentality - one can say that it's totally stupid to cut plates if you don't have the money for it. but mp3 isn't my mentality somehow. mp3 means to me that music is always everywhere available.... music shouldn't be always&everywhere available.

mala told me he doesn't get often dubs - i even thought that this would be the 'normal proceedure' but obviously people tend to hand out CDs.... i'm not.

also what i like (and dislike too) is the selection. if i cut a plate i REALLY need to think of the tracks i'm putting on! i can't just take a handfull of tracks and throw them on a CD.... last time i spent about 250 pounds for malas plates - you will think VERY, VERY good of what will get mastered/cut.... though.. taking the desicion is always a pain in the ass... some of you might remember that i made a thread asking which tracks i should cut on dubplate because i have chosen 6 out of all my tracks, but couldn't decide which 2 tracks should be dismissed....
