bent/warped vinyl from boomkat?

anyone else having this problem?
three records (deep medi 004, skull006, hyp006) in two orders arriving in the last week have been bent (a big lip on one side) or warped beyond reason. i picked up a second copy of one of hyp004 from another seller and it's perfectly flat so i'm thinking it's a storage issue on their end.

if records aren't stored perfectly horizontal, vertical, or flush against a flat surface, they're going to warp.

how bout you email them rather than bitching about them here, it'd be much more productive.

um, chill out forensix. i'm not bitching, i'm asking. nor am i slagging the shop. i have emailed them once already and i'm still waiting to hear back. the reason i asked on here was to see if other people are having the same problem. i'm not inclined to pay for return shipping myself if it's part of a wider problem (i.e. if it costs me more money and i'm just as likely to receive misshapen replacements).

never had anything bent or twisted from boomkat.
however, records I've got from boomkat have frequently resulted in me becoming bent and twisted.

How many records do you own? and do you always buy from boomkat? if you own a shed full of records and always buy from the one shop the law of averages will give you a bogey record every now and then let 'em know about it and they should send you out a new one. If they don't blow the shop up

did you have to collect from sorting office or were they delivered to your door?
i'd be more inclined to blame royal mail than anyone else.

i've ordered heaps from a number of uk shops. there's the usual variation in quality but i've never felt the need to send anything back. i wouldn't have posted had it not been 2 separate orders from the same place within the same period of time with the same problems.

Boomkat have generally been fine. Did get a warped copy of Congo Fever from Dubplate, but I figure this was because it'd been stored for years on end. Still plays ok and they probably wouldn't have any more, so just left it.

I've had some warped stuff from boomkat before, but also lots of flat records. I haven't ordered from them in a while, but £50+ orders came in quite flimsy packaging if I recall. Guess it would be better if they were to bookend the vinyl using cardboard mailers and/or use stronger packaging, I'd pay an extra couple of quid for that.
Warpmart pack records really well, although I haven't used them in ages either.
However, Royal Mail have a lot to answer for...

Royal mail dont give a shit about what they are delivering, or dont know. I tednt to find it them who have ruined any records. Best way around it is for stores to put cardboard stiffeners in as standard and pad it out with LOADS of flyers and stickers and free mags...... used to love Suspect pacakges and other stores for that
