Reason 3 is Da Bomb

i hate Reason 4 and 5. I want to install reason 3 again. The automation and sequencing functionality were way easier to use. I hate "Midi regions" and the fact you have to click twice to edit midi now. Vector automation sucks, i want the grid-based step sequencers back.
I tried installing reason 3.0.5 on an i7 Macbook Pro with 10.6.6 installed on it, and cant seem to get it to work. Ive looked all over the internet and cant seem to solve the problem.
no matter what I do, i keep getting this error:
"The Operation could not be completed because the device denied access."
I have repaired disk permissions, used onyx, uninstalled every propellerhead file on my computer and reinstalled Reason like 3 times and i still get the same error. I have looked all over the internet and havent found any help, not even someone saying that reason 3.0.5 is not compatible with my current system. only thing i could find was on the propellerheads website that said reason 3.0.5 is supposed to work on all intel macs. ... I am stumped.
Anyone have a clue what i could do?
I'm willing to reinstall my whole OS (my computer could probably use a clean install) but i dont want to go through the hassle if im gonna get the same error again...
