Anyone put maschine to use? How is it used in your set?

I've finally begun diving into production and over the past little while i've collected enough for what I feel can get me moving in the right direction. I've got a Maschine, midi keyboard, Ableton 8.1.1, and a collection of VSTs.

I'm more curious about maschine and how you guys put it to use when making tracks. Let's hear it.

I've got the maschine and use it as itself just to jam as well as use it for midi with either logic (running with komplete 7 vsts)
reason, and ableton.
I also make wobble sounds in it by sampling a bass and applying a filter and changing the envelope filter to lfo or lfo sync.
It's a great device for chopping up sounds (using the slice option in the sampler editor)
The 1.6 upgrade will make the device much more powerful with 3 effect banks for sound group or the master and
it will recognize vst's as well. I can upload video ns hit if you want

I can't wait for the 1.6 update. I'm not the best in ableton, though I can get around it. I can get around Maschine a bit better.

What type of videos do you have? I'm willing to watch what ever you have that may help me progress.

I really don't know of anything specific. I'm just trying to get past that point of making drum loops only and putting elements together to complete songs. Not real sure what to ask for.

Maschine user over here aswell
I don't really like any of their effects (the metaverb sounds like shit) but good for tapping out what's grooves going on in your noggin. Also 1.6 means i can start using the uad plugs in it.
It Could be better worked in with the daws - at the moment it's a ballache getting midi to work in ableton and logic (worth making a template if you haven't already).

Are there any competitors to maschine?

I mean there is this, totally different actually, but same fundamental concept. I like this direction. A lot.

From my limited perspective, it is a fucking awesome tool. I will own it, or something like it w/in a year or two, undoubtedly.
