nope i get more pissed at big name djs that make shitty productions and get signed based off of djing though, and producers who get gigs based off their production and suck at djing

No, me either. Get more pissed at people who think they can beatmatch in a weekend. If your so naturally talented why wouldn't you go make thousands of dollars doing next to nothing ?

this beatmatching means shit if you have no selection or ear

i used to dj teen dances where I was the only one who even attempted to beatmatch, the others just wait till the song plays all the way through then cross fade it over to the next song real quick.
and he bought real nice denon cdjs and a nice pioneer mixer just to do that. Its like buying a supercar just to go down the block to the store. meanwhile Ive got no dj equiptment and i actually know how to beatmatch

In all honesty, beatmatching isn't that hard if you know your music. A weekend should do the trick. But yeah, there are a lot of comments like "he's the best dj in the world" and stuff, but since there are so many things like that ("Justin Bieber is .....","that's so filthy that......","my neighbours........") that i really don't care anymore.

the 10+ hour on acid show that the station owner let me bump everyone elses show that day was gold

No, some people just DJ, some just produce, some do both.

I get more pissed at the people that think they are a producer after having reason for a month or the people that think that they can DJ after learning how to beatmatch over the weekend.

i also get pissed at djs who only play dubs even if they suck for the sake of being exclusive
there is a reason some tunes don't see release

Well you can definitily tell the difference between Ben UFO and someone like Joker. And your probably just mixing tracks straight out of each over, Youngsta does some mental things on three decks that take a lot more than one weekend and a sync button.

You probably haven't seen a decent enough set if you think it doesn't take any skill.

you guys calm down, he said he could beatmatch after a weekend, and that's perfectly possible. He didn't say he could do other stuff.

anyway.. I can understand getting pissed at some one calling themselves a DJ when all they do is press play.. but thats not DJing..
the thread should be called "Anybody else get pissed off at people that only press play and call themselves a DJ?"

Even then, i understand his frustration. When you dj music that isn't yours, you actually take some credit for those songs. Like if you only mix epic songs, they will find you a better dj than when you mix your own stuff that maybe isn't as good as the big stuff. This is where dubplates come in handy.
