It's actually in use in practically every piece of music you hear on the radio - this tutorial hopes to help you apply root transitions and relationships in the songs you write.
the camelot wheel is the same thing which DJs use in harmonic mixing. The camelot wheel is a re-invention of the wheel so to speak.
I have an article on my blog on the camelot wheel and harmonic mixing as well which is an application of this same theory honed toward DJs and mixing (and is awesome and if you're not applying this I recommend you at least learn about this even if you don't use it so you understand what is happening when you find a "good mix"

Try learning going to the left, as that is the way cadences move. This is where you get your V chord resolving to the I chord. You also get your secondary dominants for things like a ii V I movement (the ii becoming the dominant to the V by raising the 3rd). I have written this out here before, so I shall try to avoid doing it again. More info can be found here:

Thanks for this. I've known about the circle of fifths for a long time but never "got it" till now. I'll give it a go in one of the tunes I'm currently working on.

Thanks for the part about harmonic mixing!
The free software for detecting key, bpm doesn't work. It will easily take a week to analyze my library and I only have
2700 songs.
