A few weeks ago, Chuck D wrote a letter criticizing American rappers, saying that if there were a world-wide Rap Olympics, the United States wouldn't even place. When talking about the countries that have not only caught up, but surpassed the Americans on the mic, he referenced the UK. Jay-Z is taking notice of the talent pool out there and has signed rapper K. Koke. According to Soul Culture, Koke has a mixtape due out in February called Pure Koke, Vol. 2. Until then, you can check out the rapper from a freestyle he did back in May.
1. That's a long from getting rushed in a hairdressers a couple months ago.

2. UK is better at hip hop then US.

Not the biggest fan of where rap has ended up these days. I know there's still some good stuff out there, just not really as willing to search for it as I used to be.

Love me some good ol 90's hip hop though. I'll have to check out some of these guys coming out the UK.

Nothing remotely interesting has happened in hip hop for years. Its as stagnant as bottle of old piss

I can't stand that dirty south horseshit either.

Prime example of totally bollocks hip hop.

UK Hip hop is never going to be accepted in America, it barely even features over here tbh.

Would rather the UK was more associated with our own scenes like Grime and Dubstep, rather than cheap imitations of a sound across the pond.

Love me a bit of Roots Manuva though.

I gotta say the UK beats the states in just about every aspect of music, but when it comes to rap, nothing will ever compare to the classics. Fuck all that new hip pop shit coming out lately tho.

haha maybe at it's current state, but if you look at it overall, the full history, US destroys the UK and anyone else as far as hip hop goes..

and chucky d is probably just bitter after hearing flocka on the radio or something, he's just an islamic vegetarian grandpa now

because Atlanta is whack. It's the cash cow of the industry.

Listen to the real south... Texas raised, Texas made, Texas paid.

then you blaze up and listen to some texas classics
