Gonna get my self a pair of 1210s soon - finally! I'm thinking of goin for a pair of active monitors rather than an amp/speakers combo. the nicest ones i can find in my buget range are the Alesis M1 Active 520 Pro Studio monitors. are they any good or could i do better for my money (£200)? advice appreciated.

not sure about any other speakers but dont get alesis ones............
i got a pair and there far to bass heavy! got mid and top end range but the bass end is silly, not good at all! still think for decks its best to run passives.....

if you want a pair of monitors for mixing
id get the behringer thruths or alesis m1s
its not really important if they are too bass heavy because your not writing beats them afterall...
and even if you do, they are still more than usable. just need to push the bass a bit further & know how the monitors sound in relation to a club or other speakers etc

thanx for the advice. might just go for the M1s since I've found a pair for a really good price. though since i might get back into makin beats at some point in the not too distant future the bass thing might be a problem.
