Never listened to the guy but now I think I'll have to. Thank you Sharmaji - those vocals are so unique!

yeaahh that little bit that sounded downsampled in a way...
and im not going to lie, not a fan of the reverb in this at all
it starts off good, then the reverb kicks in and starts creating a nice sense of space
and then all of a sudden it becomes drenched and horrible, almost un-listenable

I'm a victim to the fluttering reverberations!
But when working with live audio, I prefer my vox to have triplet delays rather than say a plate reverb.
natural reverb is nutty, how many of yall find mad spots & start clapping enjoying the verb??
I do it all the time... & yeah I know how stupid I look to the public, but shit just sounds so great.

All the time! Love the sounds, and vibes of underpass's at night.
It's even better when you, bring recording gear with you, capture all that natural goodness.

When I was a teenager, my friends and I would sneak into this particular stairwell at the University with instruments. This stairwell went up several stories and was all concrete. The reverb in there was amazing!

I meant that even though we get shitloads of people talking brostep all the time nowadays, which doesn't have so much reverb in it. There are still peeps who appreciate the dark verby subby dubstep of yester year.

Spring verb time!
I found out why they call these things "tanks", it's not just cause they are a spring in a tank, but because they're indestructible, both work like new after 40 years. Photos aren't of mine, the two boxes are actually nearly the same size next to each other. Sound-wise, the SR-202w seems a little warmer and the Sansui RA-500 a little brighter.
You'll also notice that the light shows are a big plus of these units over VST! This was a trend in industrial design... here's a T-Bird from the same period

wouldnt say its horrible and un-listenable toward the end
pretty creative use of the reverb. it's not only drowning every instrument but the listener as well..

NO SHIT!
I own that Pioneer spring reverb unit SR-202W. My dad bought it new back in the mid 1970's. Apparently, he bought it for his stereo receiver/Hi-Fi whatever the fuck ya wanna call it. Can someone explain to me how that would be enjoyable? Dad's also got some sort of Akai 1/2inch r2r in the attic. He says it's mine, I just haven't been motivated enough to battle the mouse shit to get at it, then find a place in the studio for it. Im already busting at the seams.
Anyways, its RCA in/outs, and if you tap that thing hard on top, you get one of the trippiest noises known to man. It rattles the spring inside and verbs. It's truly fucking trippy. Also, that green analog display on front, is extra classic. Its like two pieces of green glass, that move together or spread apart depending on the wet/dry amount.
Hahaha! Never thought I would find something on this board that would remind me of good ol pops. Beautiful.
So, did my dad use this to reverb his 33's while listening or what?
I could just call and ask I suppose.

Good idea, i just spent like half an hour kicking throwing and stomping things
last year (first year for my audio production degree) I had to pick a producer & give a presentation to my class.
I was going to do it on Mala, but alas... his techniques aren't widely known,
so I chose Lee Perry!! This man was a master in his time at the Black Ark studios.
I suggest you search out the quirky techniques that defined his sound!
Using a Tascam 4 track, he created better sounding audio than his comrades that used 16 tracks.
Experiment with the techniques of those days using the technology of now!
sorry for the spiel... I've been awake for 2 days!hahahhahah
