just a note to let you know that DJ PINCH is mixing exclusively on the Radio1 show next week.. 12TH APRIL..

i comissioned a mix from him to represent the fascinating exchange of love and ideas between the techno and dubstep scenes that's happening right now... and his mix is nothing short of a masterpiece..

this mix was supossed to run as a part of a Special show...

PINCH - reppin' for the UK Dubstep massive
vs
VILLALOBOS - reppin' for the international Techno massive

this is LONG... but i'll keep it short..

Villalobs is exceptionally lo-tec.. he had no means by which he could record or deliver a mix to us.. so we arranged for a promoter in Germany to open up a club Villalobos was playing at early, so he could record the mix for us.. which he did..

this is the first ever Villalobos radio mix which is exciting, but it's pure deep techno.. so it won't work vs Pinch..

so we're gonna run both as stand alone mixes on the show now..

Pinch on April 12th
Villalobos on April 19th..

even tho' we weren't able to stack up the Special... both mixes are absolutey outstanding as individual pieces.. i think you will really love Pinch's set next week..

nice will have to check, really interested to hear more detroit influenced dubstep, heard a mix by a guy called JAIME from DOA and he had this going on in the mix, detroit techno blended into dubstep, really suits each other down to the ground

Carnt wait. Pinch has took the top of my melon the couple of times ive heard him, and villalobos has long been a fave, all hail the hobbsy one!

At last! Can't wait for both of these. Having to open a club early just to record a mix is pretty jokes, doesn't he even have decks?

the point is this.. Villalobos was also asked to do a mix to represent his interpretation of the crossover between techno and dubstep - (he's just remixed Shakleton and has been playing out a lot of dubstep)...

BUT.. as it is he's just played 100 per cent deep techno, so it won't work as a special.. Pinch vs Villalobs

i've been playing regularly for the lion's share of my 12 years DJing, and for the last 5 i have not had decks at home. not that uncommon really...especially if you play out as much as villalobos.

personally i am MUCH more interested in hearing pinch's set. his tunes are mindblowing, and my love of techno AND dubstep has me drooling for this one for sure!

haha i didn't have my own tables for like the first 4 years of my dj career and then went to almost pure digital shortly after getting tables finally

i sold one for rent 5 years ago, and the other one keeps getting lent to a friend for his club night...

ack...

i'm also stoked to hear these mixes.

probably will have to catch the recording though since i am terrible about catching anything live
