I dont know shit about Djing, but i wanna get iver the cd mix 1 or 2, whats the best? Should i just go with what i prefer looks wise?

There is ALMOST everything you need on a CDMIX2, I learned on one and actually Im thinking about breathing some new life into it and hacking it apart soon.

But. You want to learn to mix I take it? the 1 doesnt have channel eq's, which is really, really, rough.

So im better off geting the 2? And yeah ill be learning, I have used vdj before but cant be assed with that, i need proper hardware , if i got the cdmix 2 would i only need some speakers? would i be able to connect to stereos? Im gessing yes cant see why not, if i invest in monitors, will i be able to use with both my lappy and the cd mix2? And can i buy a seperate sub for both? and is that a good idea, production wise, id have the sub in the middle and monitors each side.

well 2 being the second version, yea its better! as the guy mentioned 2 also has eq's.. just to let you know awhile ago i looked into these and in the end opted not to because its a waste of money in the long run, you can get yourself a midi controller for the same price and have all the effects and shits you want...anyways if you look on the numark website they sell these things $100-$150 for refurbished models.

They really arent a waste of money, thier the cheapest CDJs known to man that arent too laggy to work with, theres everything you need to start learning... Really dude, alot of Djs will say drowning things in effects is a bad strategy, and you should focus on matching, creative phrasing, and solid eq'ing of your transitions first, then worry about effects later. You dont need a milliion effects to learn to mix, itll just complicate things for you. You wanna learn on the bare necessities, then move up.

Also, a midi controller is closed end, vs these can be either plugged into another mixer later, or have other compenents plugged into them. Midi only stuff drives me nuts. Where do you plug the 12010's into a midi controller once your ready to move up in the world?

O.P. , you can get one for that price new anymore, dont buy these refurbished, doesnt seem itd be worth it, get some kid who abused the shit out of it, and have it die in a week.

You have all great points, i guess in the end its user preference but knowing he doesnt know shit about djing i think a midi controller would be a good start and most likely alot cheaper..and later on once he gets beatmatching and wants go on to using different effects and samples its all right there on his comp, also just my two cents anyways i will always recommend vinyl before anything else in this case id suggest a midi controller because he is new to djing and in a week might not care about that $100 controller he bought or djing.
