Are there places you can use CDJ's without buying them?

Do these places exist? I'm always in awe of DJs who can use Pioneer CDJ 2000's / 1000's to a high quality level. Since i got to Uni in October 10' ive been getting into the djing scene a fair bit. I'm only a bedroom DJ but nothing would please me more than owning a set of CDJ 2000's and being able to use them properly. Its fair to say I won't be purchasing these anytime soon on my student budget! Just wondering if there are places you can like practice on them / use them for recreational use?
I was baffled the other week when I went to a house party in Leeds. The house was a state but was filled with people. I got eventually barged my way thru to the DJ booth they had set up in the living room to find 2 girls djing on a pair of PIONEER CDJ 2000's. I was stunned to see them. I was expecting something much much smaller not £4000+ worth of equipment in a messy house party!

I could have the full line of Victoria's Secret models completely naked in front of me...
But the right hardware would definitely have me distracted.
Don't get me wrong though. If it was just a few 2000s, I'd be staring at the tits.

1. Find friends that have them and ask them for lessons
2. Find a low key club that has them and offer to DJ before events, during cocktail hours, etc
3. Rent a pair (usually $150-200) for 1 day, and stay awake all 24 hours practicing

so long as you're okay with denons
i'm a big fan of denons 3700s though. didn't know they'd added those. i've got a 5500 and a 3500 myself... might have to rent those 3700s for a month or so. it's $55 per deck for a month.

Yeah, I don't use CDJs but a lot of the DJs I book do, hence having to rent specific models (so far no one has requested Denon) for them (and pay dearly for it)

you're a student? then get in with a crowd who put on clubnights. doesn't matter what kind of music really; that's not the point. i learned how to beatmatch AND use CDJ1000s by showing up to the venue early while the Indie Music Society soundchecked their bands. a lot of student clubnights have open decks slots early on and a lot of bars will have the bar manager around a long time before they open the doors and start letting people in - make friends with the right people and there are plenty of places you can practise. not always on CDJ2000s, mind, but 2000s are way overrated anyway. most clubs still have 800s and 1000s, which for all intents and purposes are basically interchangeable (save for a few tweaks and extra features).

or just go hang out at your local music shop for a while, a couple of the ones here have cdj900s and denon 3700s set up with monitors out of the mixer, i dont think they would mind you playing around quietly for a bit, tell them you're product testing and are interested!

+1 on the CDJ2000 being very overrated.... We only stock 2 and to be fair am not sure if we're even keep them. Everybody still asks for CDJ1000mk's and when we have upgraded hire's to CDJ2000's they have always come back to us saying they prefer the CDJ1000mk3 just due to the fact they load alot quicker and are easy to use.
Shame but at the same time am glad we didn't change all the stock over lol
