Hey guys
Just thought I'd give y'all a heads-up if anyone's looking for a new way to make your own samples. Musician's Friend has their "Stupid Deal of the Day" for a Tascam PR-10: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid?src=3GADN Every day, they'll have something different.
I just picked this up as I was looking for a portable sampling device, but didn't want to pay big bucks. With something like this, I can go outside and do feild recordings, save it as a WAV or MP3 file, then come home and mangle the shit out of it on the computer to make crazy sound effects and atmospheres. Hehe the possibilities are endless...go to a junkyard and bang on stuff while recording the results, take it to a factory and record various machinery, create impulses for reverbs, etc. The trick is to take these feild recordings, then mangle them with various software effects and audio editors to get sound effects that are completely and entirely your own.
