Need help with monitors and interface

I just purchased two Rokit 5 G2s and a Saffire 6 USB interface for my bedroom studio, but I cant seem to get them working. I installed the Saffire 6 USB drivers and checked for updates on their website but there are none. I also made sure my sound and recording defaults in Windows Vista is set to Saffire 6 USB in the control panel. In ableton I could not find the Driver type CoreAudio in the preferences like it shows to use in the saffire instructions when setting up. Instead when I open Ableton now it says the hardware does not support the sample format. The monitors are connected to the interface by TRS cables also, if that has anything to do with it. Can someone help me figure this out??
Cheers

I take it your on a mac seeing as your using coreaudio!?
A little more info about your setup please.
But I may have a work around. Goto your utilities folder on your mac (found within the apps folder) then goto Audio/midi setup. Make sure you're on the audio section, and select your soundcard, now change the sample rate down to say 44.1khz (unless your doing some recording 44.1khz is find for playback) . Close the window and try opening your DAW (ableton, logic, whatever) again...

edit:
Try installing ASIO4ALL drivers.

also sounds like it could be a clocking or sample rate issue-- make sure both ableton & the saffire are set to the same rate and bit depth, if you have control over that.
Depone, any advantages of asio4all on a mac?

Mac only has coreaudio.. asio4all is for PC's and is developed by stineberg (i believe, but dont hold that to me)

Sorry i am using windows, thought i had included that in the original post. I have ASIO4ALL installed as Ive been producing with my stock inbuilt soundcard, but I thought using the saffire drivers it would replace having to use ASIO4ALL. So in Ableton I should set it to ASIO4ALL? The Rokits arent even playing any audio at all, even when I just try to play a song on youtube or anything.

I might have spoken too soon...I dont think it is running off of ASIO drivers. If I choose the ASIO driver type and select Focusrite USB ASIO Driver for the Audio Device I get the error Hardware does not support the requested sample rate. The only way I get sound in Ableton is when I use the Driver Type MME/DirectX and for the audio input device Line in(2- Saffire 6 USB) DX and for the audio output device Line out(2- Saffire 6 USB) DX. I tried to use ASIO4ALL but it wont work either. What am I missing?

You gotta tell us what the problem was now and how you fixed it... I hate it when people dangle the knowledge worm!

well i really didnt fix the problem, because it wont run on the saffire asio drivers for some reason. I just keep getting that same error even after reinstalling. Plus my latency is through the roof and its making a crackle noise sometimes...Im not sure what more to do, the lowest I can get the overall latency to is 53.7ms...that seems high, what should it be?
