Hi guys i have some very basic music theory knowledge...i know that in the major scale if we are in a certain key for lets say the melody, we can make our bass in the key of the fourth or the fifth of the root, which will also be a major...in the melodic minor scale, if we choose to do the same will the 'bass' melody be the major or the minor of the root note...if it makes sense...any clarification would be greatly appreciated...

The circle of fifths?

Yeah it works for minor too, just dont lay a major chord on a minor's fifth, lay a minor one...
