Eh. I gave John B. like 2 cents of credit for trying to bring back New Romantic, but subtracted 8000 cents for trying to merge DnB into the trance scene.

As for Twisted - he gets the most points for his song titles. Honestly though? Back when I was listening to almost nothing but DnB his tunes would come up, I'd say "that's a cool little bassline" or "that sound right there is raw as fuck" - but that's where it ended. His cool little basslines would just do the same thing for 6 minutes and those little sound fx and whatnot, well... that's not the same as a hook, is it?

Yeah, as much as I kinda hate to admit it there was some good shit on there (the Raiden track if I remember right.)

I'm not opposed to musical hybridization, mind you: he was actually trying to merge the two party scenes though. Like, in one room we have smelly patchouli Goa fucks with horrible b.o., having smelly hairy tantric sex right on the dancefloor while they're listening to someone sweep a res knob on a synth arpeggio for like 15 minutes straight... and in the other room we have young aggro quasi-urban types all in camo listening to music designed to make you feel like the Terminator. That's not a good mix imho.
