just wondering, i was listening to Swagga by Excision/Datsik and thought, how do you do *that* sound with the bass, where it starts on one note, then seems to slide up to another and back down again. Would this be a parameter within the synth itself (envelopes etc) or can you join two notes together in a piano roll and do it this way?
I dont have a MIDI controller you see, so doing something similar with a pitch wheel is unfortunately out of the question (it seems to be a larger range than most pitch wheels i have used in the past anyway).
it adds a nice bit of fluidity i think my tunes might lack
thoughts?

Depends on the DAW/synth you want to use, but most DAWs will let you automate the pitch wheel. Also, depending onn the synth you can usually change the range of the pitch bend.
Easiest way to go about it in my opinion is to add some portamento between notes, or if you are using massive mess around with attaching a performer or envelope to the pitch of the oscillators.

You mean "Glide" ? .. If so just check Monophone in Massive, under Voicing.. Or Monorotate..
Other DAW's have just a simple Glide function, just look for it and experiment ..
I may be off of what you're talking about though. You can always Pitch Bend
