Just wondering if there's any Irish posters on here? Just discovered dubstep, and its pretty much non-existent in Dublin. Been given a free pointers to one night that happens every two weeks and that kind of thing, but just putting some feelers out for anybody who can point me to anything else going on. I realise it takes time for this kind of music to seep into Irish clubs.

Think Owen Griffiths and Baz (Boxcutter) are doing stuff in the north, but don't remember anyone in Eire.

I live in Belfast so dont know about Dublin, but there is someone on the forum called dublinstep.

I get the impression that Dubstep in Ireland is being pushed mainly by electronica heads, so if you want to know more then affiliate with Dublin's lot. Up north we have diston.org, they're bound to know their Dublin equivalents.

I know that Digital Mystikz are playing in the Mantua Project festival in Ballinagare, Co Roscommon on July 13th-14th. Cant see myself going there cos it's in the sticks in terms of public transport, and it might even be a bank holiday timetable up here.

There was a night on in february, maybe these guys are still putting on things: http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14597

Thanks for the advice. Heard about DM playing, but I'm away for it, but probably in London so it works out fine on that part. Nice to see there has been some events. Things seem sporadic. There's a few of the usual heads about in the electronica scene with an interest so I'm trying to see if there's any more dedicated fans of dubstep on here basically. Nice to see you guys are going in Belfast though :D

I'd also stick this up on the main board fella, get more responses like.

The Ninja Hideout is mostly meant for talking shite really. Not that I'd know nothing bout that of course.

Might just do that. Think I've started to find some heads though it still seems to be something that might take a while to get a night over here. Oh well! :(

Going Dublin twice in next month. Best nightclubs/bars to head midweek and weekends? Any suggestions much appreciated.

i'm irish, haven't lived in dublin for a few years now, but i've been keeping an eye out for any signs of dubstep back home. Bass Clef, Boxcutter and MRK1 have all played within the last six or so months. i saw Don Rosco (who i'm fairly sure is one of the Bassbin dnb crew) mention on dissensus that they have pinch lined up to play soon enough. Skream also has a dublin date on his myspace.

it looks as if things are finally starting to pick up for Dubstep in Dublin!

bout bleedin time, wha?

For dubstep none really, but in general check out Traffic on Middle Abbey Street and Rogue on Dame Street.

These guys are the ones who are putting on Pinch & Skream in the Dub. alphabetset.net
