Getting started

Hey guys, I have been using this a lot recently, but I did just want to kind of start just getting my stuff out there and figuring all of this stuff out professionally.

I do want to ask really quick if there are any links you guys recommend as far as music software is concerned for making this sort of music, I don't have professional equipment yet, but would like to acquire some in the future and just things of that nature come up in my mind. if you would help me build my information and help me get started that would be really appreciated and I hope to get to know some of you and work with you professionally here in the Dallas area in the near future. I am always available to talk so just hit me up when I'm not busy with school and help me out getting on my feet here in the beginning please. I want this to be a good experience and it would really be awesome to work with some of you. Do please recommend songs and everything as well, I want to work on this for real.

I haven't really made up my mind as far as my car is concerned, I mean I definitely need to get the mids and highs replaced so I can enjoy the music more, but I've got things sitting pretty good right now, again thoughts, comments and concerns are much appreciated, help me help you as I said earlier to a friend and we will all be able to make this a better place and a better community. Fuck off if you don't like my style.

I'm out,
The Duke

Download Fruity Loops trial. If you enjoy it, buy it.

Thanks a lot, that helps, I am downloading as we speak and getting Music Oasis as a base for mp3's to mix and stuff like that. More stuff in the workings here in a little bit.

Ummm, so I downloaded Digital DJ Pro and got Mixxx 1.8.2. Anything else to get me on my feet? I also have a wealth of music so that's not really a problem yet.

head over to the production forum,
try to keep it legit (no crackz, no warez, no posting tunes in the forum itself)

there a thread called free production studio or something lik that
http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight=
and there is the dubstep production bible...
http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=159713
this will help you to gather information

read it and then come back with questions
:D

And don't post your "first attempt" online to see what people think - cos chances are it'll be shit, and you're allowed to be shit.

Make something you're really happy with then post it.

?? I don't produce ??

And I think my comment is fair, nobody can open cubase or whatever and make a smash hit straight away. Takes practice. We all know that.

Definitely agree that I don't need to be posting shit immediately, I'm gonna work on it, look for some experimental stuff to come. Don't worry guys, I got this. I've got a lot of really good ideas. DJ Duke in this ho, man!
