Boards of Canada - Geogaddi - Pure inspiration?

This is the first time I've listened to it all the way through.
It's just pure art, it's so intricate and well thought out. All the purposeful messages included in it and the intelligent stories carefully hidden just make it a beauty to listen to. Even the way it slightly disturbs you makes me want to listen again and again.
I'm definitely thinking of introducing a whole different way of producing as a result of it, not necessarily copying them, but expanding on BoC's ideology in general.
If you haven't heard this album, then you need to. As a producer this has inspired me more, creatively, than anything I've heard in the last five years.
I'd like to thank Deadly Habit and Basic A, without them I would never have heard this and I'd honestly be missing out.

I'm a massive fan of BOC. Makes me feel bad about my own tracks tho. Its beatifully crafted and the richness of sound is amazing. I think they used a ton of analogue gear and the old record to tape process. 2 things i will probs never have the option of doing
But like you said it is insprirational and makes me wanna pull my finger out my ass and learn proper techniques

A mate of mine said my tracks had a BoC feel to them.
I slapped him and told him never to dis' BoC like that ever again
Seriously though, if there is anyone reading this who has not listened to Boards of Canada, go now and purchase Music Has the Right to Children and the Campfire Headphase (actually my favourite BoC album despite it being a bit devisive between fans). Listen. Listen again. Listen again.
That is how you make soul massaging music.

BoC is some of the best music I have heard. Period.
Fans of BoC should also check out Ulrich Schnauss.

So funny how this next generation discovers it's roots.

my favorite boards of canada tune is either the musical imagery in you can feel the sky (it just makes me think of a tree croaking or a treehouse for some reason haha) or gyroscope because of the story behind it - one of them had a dream with this sound in and he tried to recreate it and he says it sounded extremely similar to the dream.. and roygbiv oh my god!

I'm sure most dub steppers will like their tune 'Everything you do is Balloon'.

my first ever trip was soundtracked by music has the right to children - fucking incredible in that context. Actually, the trip was terrible but it only started to go downhill after I stopped paying attention to the music, or the album finished... I'm not sure which happened.

But seriously, never, ever eat morning glory seeds. Just sayin.
