according to local press promoters advertised a show w/ James Blake & charged up to £20 for tickets despite him not having been booked.

searching for events by the same promoters turns up this event as well: http://www01.eventful.com/oxford/events ... 36006630-1 - which seems unlikely to say the least - Mala, Instra:mental, Synkro and more at a small club in Oxford?

does anyone know anything about the events surrounding this?

Mala, Instra:mental, Synkro and Stray played. James Blake pulled a no show i heard, he was supposed to play the same night. The night lost money despite charging £20 for tickets.

As Lucy said, I was never booked for this. I've always done my best to make sure I play a gig i'm booked for (i've never actually missed a gig) so when somebody mentioned I was 'supposed to be in oxford' when I was at Cable having my mind expanded again by Mala, my heart sank!
Incredible foul play on the part of the promoter.. I'm saddened for all the people who turned up to see me and were disappointed.

Completely unfair for anybody to do that... people work hard for there money these days and to rip everybody like that is very very wrong.
Maybe look at this as a compliment James that everybody REALLY just wanted to see you there

To be fair, after the first dodgy gig, I'd probably avoid the rest like the plague.

Yep they should be sued for what they have done as well

Was at a houseparty in Oxford last night that Noor also attended and taped to the wall - I assume by him - was what looked like a legit Reprise invoice for a James Blake booking for £2500. Obviously it's technically possible that the invoice could have been fake, but this seems fairly unlikely - anyone have any idea what's really gone on here?
