Hey guys, i just came back from japan and i have a treat for you:

Somewhere in the vicinities of Ginza, Shibuya and Akihabara in Tokyo, Japanese Dubstep and Ambient Producers team up to create a sound that could make a counterpart to Western offshoots of Dubstep like Future Garage and Witch House. Inspired by J-Pop and Anime, they are making a sound that could rival Western music in terms of creativity and ideas.

And thus, J-Garage was born.

"J-garage" is a term coined by Future Garage producer Submerse. J-Garage takes the beats and sounds of Future Garage, 130-BPM House and Dubstep and combine it with Japanese vocals, anime samples, Shinto/Buddhist meditational sounds and various aspects of Japanese sounds to create a sound of it's own.

This mix is an introduction to the music of "J-Garage", featuring music from Japanese producers and various producers that influenced the sound, including Submerse, Nero, MJ Cole, SBtRKT and Joy Orbison. if you love KRNLYA's Intro to post-Dubstep, you'll definitely love this!

Downloading this, despite the funny fake genre name, future garage is funny enough without breaking it into sub genres!!

Well, J-Garage makes sense as a title since it does use japanese vocals and it does use UK garage and Speed garage beats.

Oh, I'm just giving you a hard time because every three days someone coins a new micro genre of the sound

Agreed. This and your quest for Otaku-step (anime themed) were just waiting to produce an outcome like this. I heard the first 10 minutes and it sounds like sped-up lounge music, mixed with stuff you wold hear on old versions of Ridge Racer or something, its seriously lacking in sub-bass to even consider interesting. Like this stuff:



Besides you went to Shibuya and Ginza and you only have this to show for it and didn't even come back with Kuroi gal/Ganguro pictures... I'm beyond disappointed.

Its funny, if you try this with any other race in any other part of World you get a sure recipe for a transvestite... but its like something happens in Shibuya and Ginza that just makes it work. Ok, enough of my cryptic/inexplicable proclivities, I'll let you get back your maidcafe beats, tsundre worship or whatever it is this thread was about before I came.

Ez, i coined the name "j-Garage" and its suposed to be funny because there are a million micro genres. Not to be taken serious at all. The music is super light hearted. I had nothing to do with this mix or the text above it. Also one of my tracks in the mix is a soundcloud rip just incase the quality seems bad

j-garage is just what i was calling my own sound of garage with anime samples and japanese pop style chords and sounds. Its not suposed to be a new micro genre or anything just something funny to brand my own tunes really
