This guy mercs it on every single tune. Badness, Goblin, Spongebob I could go on. Anyone have any ideas on how he makes his basses, not to copy, just to learn.

Ive read Coki is an Additive-synth-and-effects kinda guy... there just really solid patches tonally, really, really talented automation, and catchy ass notation... IDK, itd help if the OP would provide some specific examples, but the mans a wizard and his patches often arent as transparent as your average bro.
Really consider playing with different filter types, octave layering pre filters, try automating the pitch for your notation instead of just jamming midi notes, and never, ever sync your LFO's... Coki is way too bad for synced LFO's.
For effects, short delays to provide a sort of phase-offset-modulation, automate some knobs on a few distortion units, ect.
The mans a wizard, and his patches usually arent as transparent as your average bro.

As a specific example Basic A Badness if you've heard it? The high pitched mid on that is brilliant, love that tune. I was expecting it to take a lot to get close to his sound, like you said not as transparent as your average bro.

Yeah Ive been caining that Skream n Benga recording too lol, badness is a CHOON.
Some kinda waveform, really short delays, and judging by the kinda really fine choopy aspect it might have been granular synthesis... IDK man really, just takin shots in the dark.

Reason is pro, its the best daw.
Just ma 2 cents
@Basic A - Coki is way too bad for synced LFO's.

never use LFO's anyway, just automate your filter freq then draw in the waves you want, Much more control over the sound

Reason ain't a DAW according to Propellerheads, and if it was it would be missing some basic features that all other DAW's have. *cough* VST support *cough*
but lets not all start bitching about DAW's again...

Yes, this is a perfectly viable production technique, but thats really obviously not what Coki's doing, he goes nuts with the freehand rate automation...

				Due Necro,
the newer coki stuff is mental illness.
been drooling over his sound forever, hes the one that got me hooked on dubstep...
i cant imagine how long it takes him to finish a tune. and theyre each very different.. but always in a very cokiesque philosophy
ive been experimenting with freq shifting a lot and its been helping me develop some coki esque patches...
anyone got insight on a similar way of manipulating lfos..
i cant seem to unsync them without sounding absolutely sloppy, something i dont struggle with when playing drumlines off the grid... and i can stretch pockets pretty far without sounding like pure offbeat crap..
do u write a note for each wobble with retrig on so it can catchup? somebody help me :O

Not sure, but his patches, and bassline work in general, are amongst the best in the game.
