Rusko "Scareware" Mid-Range Bass

Alright, so this is my first post on here, however, I'm a long time reader.
I'm fairly new to producing (been producing for about a year and a half), but I have been a musician for about 12 years, I recently got really into dubstep because I have always loved weird noises and sounds and BASS.
So before all of you unbutton your trousers, squat and shit on everything I say, I understand how many stupid brostep kids get on here with illegally downloaded programs that they dont know how to use and post topics like "OMFGZ how do you do Rusko wobbles!" and "HORY SHET how do I make Excision wobbles!" and although it's fun to read about how you guys shit on them (my favorite part of dubstep forums

), I have a serious question that I don't feel like getting butted out on like, "WTF DUDE YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!"
I try over and over and over again, but I cannot get that mid-range ("crank" idk that's what I call it) bass sound that Rusko has going on in his song "Scareware", and it's also in his "Hammertime" cut.
I understand that every producer should have their own sound, and believe me, I have put time into my producing trying to make my own sound (although I am to embarassed to put up any songs yet, until I have them perfect, I'm a perfectionist), and so far I have done pretty well mixing my favorite styles of reggae, d&b, and jam band, but in one of my songs I have a part where I really want a bass that sounds like that with a little bit of flange on it.
So if someone would please just save me a few more hours of slaving and processing synth sounds over and over and over, and just please tell me how the fuck he is making that crank bass sound.
oh yes btw I have been switching between FL9 and Sony Acid Pro for my bass and drums because I can never decide which one I want to use, and most of my mid range and sub bass comes out of Sytrus, I haven't gotten much into resampling yet but I have dabbled a bit, because at the same time I feel like people think that "resampling" is like a magic effect that automatic makes you like Cookie Monsta good. Lol.
Thanks yall

You seem to have answered your own question mate. There is no easy way out. If there was then don't you think everyone would sound like Rusko as soon as they start out?
"slaving and processing synth sounds over and over and over" - That is the only way to accomplish the sounds you want. Trust me.
It's an overused example but it really hammers the point home so I'm gonna give it to you anyway. You wouldn't expect to play guitar for a year and a half and then be able to play like Hendrix would you? If you can't be bothered to take the time to learn your craft don't be surprised when you don't sound like the pros.

Haha is it really? That's odd cos Rusko A: uses albino and B: can actually synth well :\
To be honest I've never heard the tune before but assumed it was a heavily processed and resampled, original sounding wobble.

I dont know the song, but i know the preset. i hate that preset. it poops on my tunes.
anyways, i know how you feel about wanting to imitate other people sounds but if you dont start thinking outside of the box now your going to end up frustrated when all the sudden your work flow halts cause you cant make rusco sound you heard once. Just fuck with it until it sounds GOOD. not until it sound like rusco

I knew I would get an answer like that haha. See I have no idea how...but my FL9 didn't come standard with Massive. So right now...I'm pretty pissed because I could be using that. Anyway, thanks to all.
Looks like I gotta save up to buy Massive, is it a good synth? I always see tutorials on youtube that are like "MASSIVE DUBSTEP TUTORIAL TO MAKE YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE DATSIK!!!!" and I'm like dude...I don't want to sound like Datsik, I want to sound like me.

dude I clearly said I don't want to sound like Rusko, I just liked that sound and wanted to mod it a bit to make it my own. I have my own sound, but I understand what you mean.

I can totally relate to that since I have been playing guitar in since I was 7, and piano since I was 12. Thanks man, nice tune btw.

NO!! This is TOTALLY the wrong attitude to take. You don't need to buy Massive, please don't , for the love of god. It's not a bad synth by any means but it isn't worth all the hype it gets. If you're going to buy a synth then at least get something really amazing. If you want to make brutal electro type sounds then yeah massive will do that the easiest but if you want something more versatile then do a bit of research and get something else.
At the end of the day though it doesn't matter what synth you buy if you don't know how to work a synthesiser. My advice is to stick with what you've got until you're an epic master with it and THEN look into expanding your kit if you feel it's necessary.

i hate Massive's sound, I dunno what to tell u those who scoff at that view... I just can't get around its tinny ugliness and sucky filters. mod interface rocks but for what.... to modulate ugly sounds with shitty filters.... :/

Ok...so basically I think you are all getting the wrong idea.
I just want that sound, and then I want to put an EQ and a Flange on it and use it for like 30 seconds in a song, because I don't know about you guys but when I am making a song I have a an idea in my head of exactly what I want each part to sound like. I use Sytrus, and I make my own presets for that, and I love it. I love using that synth because whatever sound I have in my head I can get on there and after about a half hour-45 mins of messing with effects/osc/filters I have the sound I had in my head.
I only said I was going to buy Massive because from what I read it is a really amazing synth, but now I guess that's not a good idea...Im so confused...I just want to make the the dark electro sound in Sytrus...but that takes me all the way back to the reason I posted this thread in the first place...I have been trying to get that crank sound for fucking months, and I still cant get it to sound right. I have said multiple times that I am not just some stupid brostep cigarette that wants to sound like Rusko. I am to the point of

IMHO, you're worse than a "brostep cigarette" . You're overly defensive.

Then why are you asking us how to sound like Rusko!?! lol. Look man, the point is that IT TAKES TIME to learn how to synthesise and be able to create the sounds you have in your head accurately. Stop whining on here and spend some time working harder instead. That's what everyone else has to do.

no DAW comes with Massive standard ahaha (except for Komplete obviously because it is by NI). and massive is $200 and is an amazing synth. buy it
