Bouncing Bassline

I'd really like to know how to achieve a midrange bass sound similar to Cookie Monsta-Frontline and Excision & Datsik-Deviance (right after it goes "check this out"), could someone enlighten me on how to start creating this? I don't want a step-by-step tutorial, just a jumping point or maybe some of the theory behind the sound so I can play around and make something of my own :4: I'm using Reason 5 btw

Read the stickies. You will find tutorials there, and the beginning is a nice jumping point. Google and youtube are also helpful.

this is only a rumour but ive heard that routing a low frequency oscillitor to a low pass filters cut off on a sound gives amazing results :o

Oh... went back and read that again  Failure

Gimme a break, I just got my DAW like a week ago so most of the technical vocabulary hasn't clicked yet

Those guys have been producing a long time and have developed their own techniques and sounds mate. If you have actually done loads of tutorials you should have a load of bass patches. So get tweaking them and work out what everything is doing and what effect it has on the sound. After that have a crack at making your own by recreating these techniques. Then in 5 years time every new post on here will be asking ' how do I make that sick bass in the arkuris track'

also, for that boucning effect, use either a saw or traingle wave on the LFO as opposed to a sine

no problem, people are too tetchy these days. But yeah the bible and stickies are also massive help!
