anyone have any acapella of any of Crystal Castles tracks? except for Air War.

if you're confident there is actually an acapella available youll be able to find it by scouring google. acapeallas4u is a good resource also.

it may not have ever been released or circulated in which case youll just have to make do by screaming like a girl and applying heavy limiting and distortion (joking!)

if you can't do a DIY acapella, your remix probably won't do the original justice... just sayin

if you're talking about EQ'ing and filtering to make a usable percapela i see your point.

if you're talking about phase cancellation with an instrumental please respond with some tips. I've never had any luck with that. and the examples ive heard all sound atrocious.

Yeah probably best to leave this track alone, i think enough damage has been done by apparent "remixes", which would be more factual being entitled "ruining perfectly good songs".

well I've already tried making an instrumental and it really damaged the tune. but it's alright though I'm getting the instrumental from the Celestica promo cd today and hopefully phase cancellation works out

keep it dirty...just rip the vocals like they are and layer so much shit on top that you cant notice. i dont know.with enough reverb and filter you wont hear the other shit. D8

The phase cancellation sounds really horrible/doesn't work unless the instru+vocal are from the same souce, and tbh don't bother with compressed files it's more trouble than it's worth imo...

I'll check my collection and a couple of people I trade acapellas/stems with though, maybe someone has it.

I didn't have it and the 2 cats I asked on AIM haven't got back to me yet. I used to have an acapellas4u account, I forgot about that site. I'll see if my login still works when I track down the registration email.

BTW there was a huge text file floating around online/on forums with a list of the acapellas they had, maybe if you can find that you can search it to see if they even had it. Probably outdated though.

I'm inclined to say that the whole phase thing is a bunch of shit. I tried it with Pinch's album (which comes with intrumentals) and couldn't do it.

it really only works on certain production methods and how the vocals are implemented. Especially heavily processed vocals.... no bananas a lot of the time.

For the original poster, you may shoot an email to Fiction Records and see if they issued any dj promos with instrumentals or not. I know there was no commercial release of aca/instrumental but that doesnt mean their initial radio promos didnt have them or if they didnt do any dj promos.

I checked with the local college radio station here at university of texas and the version they were sent has the original and a radio promo that is slightly shorter. No aca/instrumental.
