Been listen to a good bit of Apparat lately, I think hes sound design is amazing
He makes sounds that are synthetic but the extreme amounts of expression in them make them seem really organic at the same time, I've been searching around to find out a bit more about what software and techniques he uses but can't find much, anyone other Apparat fans out there able to point me in the right direction

apparat is a badman. i know he uses ableton, don't know what else. i think his sound design and use of effects is what makes it seem more natural...

you heard the album he did with ellen allien? too sick.

sorry i couldnt be of more help, i think he's just pretty damn good with his synths and production as opposed to any major technique...

The the album he did with Ellen Allien was the first one I got, then I got the moderat album, only starting to listen to his solo stuff now.

After a bit of searching I found out that he actually designs patchs for NI's Reaktor, I've only really used reaktor to create mad soundscape effects with its mad sample manipulation tools, but apparently hes done stuff for Photone & Krypt, going go check'em out now.

Apparat - Walls = :U:

Love Apparat, serious talent. Things to be Frickled is a good listen also. Haven't got round to purchasing Orchestra of Bubbles, must give that a listen. Moderat is sick also.

Hi! Im new in the forum... i just wanted to drop by and say some stuff about Apparat

About his sound design and "technique", he began with modular synths and playing with different clock generatos/lfos (thats how he could create stuff ala Authecthre), but now he is using, as said before, Reaktor and specially Max... basically, what i would suggest is using polyrhythm and "chaotic" sequencing, but not with the musical notes (as that can result in something quite random, which sometimes is cool by the way) but on different parameters on the synth...

I use a Nord Modular G1 and i love doing stuff like that... add a sequencer to control th filter, but not as a stepfilter, or to control envelopes that trigger maybe lfos that doing different little things (ona for tremolo, another for vibrato, another for the filter resonance... whatever), i recon if u spend GOOD time you can get some good highquality results...

my 2cents!
cheers!
