Aight. I've really put alot of time and effort into this one. There will be a few small revisions. If you want a 320 of the final mixdown, Post here or PM. I'll update this thread in a day or two when the final touches are put on it. It's quite complete tho.

It won't be for everyone - it's definately genre bending. Early morning vibrations for sure. For when you can "see the sun". Very lush subtle melodic style.

For the producers - in this one I really tried to focus on the spacial qualities of a mix. I used light panning, reverb, EQ and compression in order to move things around and fit them all into the space, reflecting constantly on analogies of a photograph or film. While the main elements are relatively centered (drums and bass), I've accentuated the mix, by placing certain elements "behind" and to the left/right of those central elements. This gives sonic interest, as well as defining the space within which the song exists. The vocals are "wrapped around" the focal instruments, being set back with heavy reverb with little early reflections, mostly wet mix. Looking at a track like this has been one of the most beneficial excersizes in production. It ensured that I got it right - keeping the drums up front, and making me really think about and defining each instrument in the song.

Lovely production on this, as I said those style vocal samples arent normally my bag, but ive got to say in this case it works fucking well. Top notch set opener/finisher i reckon!!

a 320 would NOT go amiss

the tune is large, but I've got one remark...with the deepness of the tune I feel that the bass work could be a little more intricate and have it work with the pads. In my humble opinion the wobble modulation doesn't really fit the rest of the track and that, to me, is a shame. So another version with a deeper bassline for me would be tops!
:D

Saw the dread word "trance" and thought this was going to be horrible, is actually really lush

Agree with Dice on the bassline though, the modulations seem a little unnecessary and distract from the rest of the tune - been experimenting a bit with using a unison bassline highpassed and then sending that out to delays, reverbs, phasers, whatever and then just adjusting the send levels to give occassional splashes of depth and movement. Seems the rest of the songs got quite a lot of subtlety and good embellishments which get lost with the wobble workout.

Having said that it's still a very quality production, got a sort of bittersweet flavour to it which is done really well.

Cool. Once again, thanks alot for the suggestions. I'll revisit the tune possibly later today and experiment again.

this tune is hot! i agree about the bassline tho. does need a lil more bump to it, and the wobbles aren't really necessary for the tune. I definitely like the space in the tune. Solid chilled out vibes on this. I'd fully dig a 320 when you get it completed. :D:
