I'm a 15 yr old graphic designer using gimp...taught myself everything I know lol ( I also produce dubstep and hiphop and I rap on my beats. )
I wana move forward though and be able to make real amazing designs like something intense enough to fit the idea of Dubstep...example is the 3d abstract version of Skrillex's logo. (

If any of you guys know how to do design like this type of stuff, please tell how to do it or show me how you learned it

for these sort of renders its best to use 3dsmax c4d or even maya and then take it into photoshop and play around with colours and light adjustment, as for teaching your self there are plenty of tutorial sites ie.
http://psd.tutsplus.com/ and
http://cg.tutsplus.com/. good luck !

Also, you should post some of your work. I'm curious to what it looks like.

I've done basic stuff like art for the names of my friends or edits to photos or album art for myself etc.

There not bad for a young person self learning I suppose. But I wouldn't hold out for any graphic design jobs. To do the skrillex thing; it would probably have been made with a cad program then played around with in photoshop. Just search for tutorials and that'll help you along
