Recently I discovered a mix by Glitchy & Scratchy called The Weather Report that intros with Bill Hicks' Positive LSD Story bit (check it here: http://soundcloud.com/glitchyscratchy/t ... report-new) and since then I've fallen in love with everything to do with this guy. Long story short, I need to figure out how to sample from youtube/mp3s and cut away all the laughter and noise so it's just his voice and bounce that to wav. Any methods for achieving this using Reason 5 or freeware? Much love to anyone who can help

Your not going to be able to remove the audience completely, maybe rolling off some of the top mids will cut the volume of them back, but it doesnt work like that.
And there are tons of different tools for extracting audio from FLV files online, or you could just set audacity to record from stereo mix or something.

FUCK DUDE!!! I was just gonna say this exact thing. And no one led me to this conclusion either. So I'm glad someone else feels like Stanhope's carrying the torch.
Hicks is more than a comedian, as is stanhope in his own way. Both pushing an agenda, but an agenda that I agree with, pretty much across the board.

I'm not using the LSD bit, only a short sweet "It's just a ride" sample (or something of that nature)

I'll definitely be checking Stanhope then. I've only been aware of Mr. Hicks for a few days now but literally every bit of what he has said is raw truth

Bill Hicks is a bad-ass. I have nothing to really contribute to this, I just wanted to declare my love for him since everyone else seems to be doing so.

Ahhh, Bill Hicks, Stewart Lee, Dylan Moran, Ricky Gervais. My favourite stand ups, and I've used samples from all of them in my work before

Yes, Bill Hicks was an amazing human being and almost everything he says is a gem in some way, but don't just throw samples of him into your production just because. So tacky.
