Is this any good? Mind you all I have to work with is a demo copy of FL studio 9, but I plan on getting ableton, FL 9 producer edition, and the massive vst plugin in the near future.

BUT, considering my limited supplies and the fact that I am completely new to creating dubstep, what do you guys think?

It was nice at the start, but i felt like i knew exactly where you were going to go with it, it's not bad for somebody working off of a demo copy of FL9 mind you - i forgot how cheesy the vocals you get with fruity loops are lol. If you developed your sounds a bit more (which is probs hard in a demo of fl9) it could be a decent tune, it's all a bit rough at the minute though I think.

I had a whole bundle of stuff typed up and then I remembered you're working with some pretty limited software..

You set up a pretty great atmosphere and build to the drop, and I like the part after the drop. Basically my problem's with your lead wobble synth thing, but that'll improve with your vst's. Great work dude, keep it up. I'm pleasantly surprised with the musicality of it. What's your experience?

TBH you are going to get a bit of stick for using your age as tool for recognition...

Thanks, and I don't have too much experience with computer made music, but I have been playing guitar, bass, piano, and singing since the age of four.

I agree. What software do you think I should get first in order to make better dubstep songs? Right now I'm stuck with 2 options:

Using the 3x Ocs
Modding the hell out of Sytrus.

I know how to tweak the LFO and how to add preamps and different pitches and stuff, but it all generally sounds the same. I want to be able to accomplish the noises that sound like "gigaga" (lmao, hopefully you know what i'm talking about) and just have a more diverse plethora of bass wobble options.

There's nothing wrong with Fruity Loops. You people bash on FL too much. It's how you use it. I've made some sick songs with FL although my preferred DAW is Reason. You can bash reason all you want as well, i still love it and it's doing me some pretty nice justice. I also preferred FL over Cubase. They can all do the same things if you know how to do it.

That's all I ever see on YouTube is people bashing FL, sure it isn't the best but you can still create sick productions with the program.

But it's a good start and exceptionally decent for being only the demo version of FL Studio. I thought you couldn't save on the demo version though? Did you just work on this and keep it open or can you save?

I made the whole thing in about 2 hours, then I just hit export>wave>highest bitrate> song is saved. I basically found away to cheat around the system so you can keep n tall of the plugin data that would normally be erased if the song was saved otherwise.

Is reason used similarly in any sense to that of the producing process in FL studio?

The layout is different but I like that, and yeah reason is a whole new world but that's why there's different DAWs right? I like how reason lacks VSTs in a sort of sense that it pushes you more to learn how to create those effects on your own. But most DAWs are capable of doing almost everything each other can. Specially when it comes to Dubstep, is my opinion.

Thanks, I will certainly look into it! But I also have another question. Have you ever heard of the itchy suite of VST's? They are a group of VST's that are supposed to help create nice bass wobbles in programs like FL, but, for some reason, I can only hear like 4 out of the 25 different sounds each plugin comes with. Any ideas as to why this would happen?

u probably don't want to make the "yoyoiyoiyoiy" sounds cos they are over used and sound pretty shit if unless u use them cleverly/suttlely. but to do it u need to use a bitcrusher. also yeh telling everyone your 14 isn't going to make you a better producer and just makes you look a little silly
