I just made another one. This is my 7th dubstep ever made! Tell me what you think and where it can be improved.

i think that wobble masks your kick. better notch out a space on it w/ EQ around where your kick peaks. And where is the sub?

Creatively speaking, i don't like melodies played on wobble bass. don't get me wrong, all i make are wobblers, but i think their pitch ought to be almost atonal sometimes, or just achieved through different means. like portamento, pitch bend, envelope, lfo, etc. Cuz the straight wobble over a chord progression is straight cheese. the other ways of modulating pitch can be murkier, meaner, darker. If you want a melodic bassline, try non-wobbling bass. imho of course.

that being said, the melodies in your upper synths create an atmosphere that i'm digging.

Thank you for responding! I'll try putting a sidechain on the sub or something so that the kick can work...this is still a work in progress...also there is sub on it. From my angle, a bit too much sub so that it's drowning the dub bass in subness
Also I come from hiphop so everything has to have melody...can't just do noise without melody lol...but I like wobble bass - like everybody says, I gotta do my own style...well this is pretty much how my rap beats sound other than the fact that it's dubstep...so I guess this is my style lol...

overall, i think it sounds cool. could get a fatter kick and a clap that stands out a bit more, honestly, you could do a lot more with the melody of the wobbles, too. Try making different synths along the same line of what you have and intermingling them with the other wobbles, also, you could boost the sub and use a dimensional expander on your main synth just to broaden the sound so its not so centered.

I like the intro melody a lot.
Also you could make the drop harder by adding some sweeps and muting the volume right before the drop.

Thats my 2 cents :P

Thank you both for your comments :6: ... I don't know about alternating sounds between similar synths because I didnt use synths...so i could try adding more effects and automating the amount of effect that it has (like bitcrushers and distortions and reverbs and whatnot) and that may do something. And as for the wobble not changing, I know lol its still a work in progress. I havent taken the time to do that part yet. Is a dimensional expander like a stereo separator? If so, Ive tried it and it just doesnt sound right.

I take existing sounds and edit them into a bass. Like for example, take any sound and loop a really small part of it like 5ms or something like that and use that as a bass...then maybe layer a few of those into a new bass

aite i'm back at work in headphones so listening sans sub again but the main difference i'm hearing is you definitely did something to try and sort that kick... it's cutting thru a bit more but sounds boxy and i think there's too much verb on it. if you sidechained i would remove the sidechaining and focus more on the EQing.. u need a kick w more body and content around 100Hz and 1kHz. this one sounds like its hitting at 500, which is kinda ugly.

The new bassline sounds i feel are too high pitched. they need guts. still i like the glide n the way u shifted around with them
Good effort , they will keep sounding better. u definitely need to get hip to synthing if u wanna move forward. Can't muck around with samples forever. load up some square, saw, tri n sine waves, filter them, wobble them, not a bad place to start.

alright as for the sidechain thing, i did the eq thing but it changed the sound of the bass too much and I didn't like it so I kept it but sidechained it with the kick so that when the kick plays, the bass makes room for it...it needs work, but i think that'll work good when I get it tweaked. I also turned down the actuall BASS part of the dub-bass because I thought it was a bit overpowering...I could go either way with it but apparently it isnt sounding good on your system so I'll change it back. I can do the synthing thing like that I just like how the basses come out from glitching method better than synths. I really want to learn FM synthesis with sytrus though but no matter how many tutorials, I can't get the hang of it. I hear good sounds coming from FM synths.

bump - listen to my newest version please. I made sure that the kick had room to speak while the bass's sound wasn't compromised. also, I did better transitions and brought more actual bass into the 'bass'. finished track is in my signature...i may add vocals to this though.
