I'm playing Battlefield Play4Free right now. It's a free multiplayer based on lengendary BF2 with Bad Company weapons (I think BC) with updated maps/graphics. Right now the maps out are Karkand and Oman, based on BF2 Strike at Karkand and Gulf of Oman. It's closed beta right now but if someone wants a key let me know, or the open beta is supposed to be released in another month or 2.
It's one of the better free games, great way to kill boredom and it runs decent on pretty much any computer (within reason) similar to HL2.
Battlefield Heroes was similar but too cartoony for my tastes, and was full of bugs when I played. I hear it's hard to play now unless you pay for addons/upgrades... but Play4Free is very balanced and you can rent weapons for 24hrs-3 days without paying real money based on the credit system... the more you play the more credits you get. Not sure if Heroes has that now...
I still play BF2 + realism mod with friends as well. It really makes gameplay A LOT better IMO, I highly recommend that mod.

I'm Hunterseeker on play4free and HuntaSeeka on BF2.
I have only had one crash so far, and it made my rented weapon and training points dissapear, you have to log out and log back in on the site to sort it out.
They just lowered the prices for purchasing weapons, once it's out of beta I'll definitely buy some battlefunds but for now the renting works, got about 12,000 credits and it's only 500 to rent for 24hrs.
The only game i really play on Steam at the moment is BC2. Add me 'shortinos'
i be sniping yo ass

I like BC2
its nice to jump on there when the 12 year old MLG 360-no-scopers get abit too much on COD

the only thing about free2play is there's medics and snipers all over spraying away and camping (i play assault) that and like all battlefields you get people piloting vesicles who can't drive worth a shit
crysis 2 is just as boring as crysis 1, except slightly cooler because its in the city
youll spend hundreds of hours on BC2 multiplayer cause all battlefields are like fps crack

I just came out of BC2: Vietnam, love it
BC2 is honestly one of the best games ive ever bought. Every online game is like a fully written and scripted single player game, then you realise this has all just happened by chance with a bunch of other real people, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Mind = blown.
