HERBAL SESSIONS presents REMARC & SNAREOPHOBE
FRIDAY 15TH APRIL
DRY LIVE, MANCHESTER
10PM - 4AM
£6 ENTRY

Herbal Sessions - On a Jungle Tip - £6 on the door

It’s been a long time coming... Herbal finally pays tribute to the amen break. This will be a serious night of skanking as we celebrate the birthdays of 2 of the crew.

To headline the show we welcome to the turntables an absolute don and pioneer of Ragga Jungle...
...
REMARC

“Remarc began his music career at 13 years of age playing reggae, rare groove and electro at house parties in and around his birth town of Brockley in south east London. At 17 he got his first break as a DJ on the infamous Weekend Rush pirate radio station playing Hardcore and through the progression into Jungle. It was here that he initially made a name for himself as a DJ but only really touching a London based audience.

“Widely proclaimed to be "king of the Amen" due to his chopped up tracks for labels such as Dollar, White House, Kemet, and Suburban Base. The majority of these tunes were compiled alongside previously unreleased tracks for a two volume retrospective released by Planet Mu in 2003 and 2004. He is still spinning worldwide.

And we’re also mightily stoked to announce the return of the 2 man power house...

SNAREOPHOBE

“A Sub-conscious, forward thinking musical collaboration between Chris Pope and Pete Cadney based in Bristol, UK. The project initially started as an experiment into the deeper side of bass music, spiralling into a live two man mashup of sub-low frequencies, diverse drum patterns and dubbed out atmospherics. Taking influences from Jungle, Garage, Breakbeat and Dubstep; the Snareophobe live set evolved. Performances consist of a hyper DJ vs Laptop sound clash – mixing up heavyweight basslines, samples, loops & fx; mashing up their own tracks over 4 channels and remixing tracks on the fly. Often joined on stage by Subliminal, Lil Rhys, Dub Fx & Mr Woodnote; layers of twisted, electronic music & vocal fx come as standard! Fresh back from European shows featuring Mr Woodnote, Eva Lazarus (Dub Mafia) & supporting the Convoy UnLtd Cause & Fx Tour, Snareophobe have been rocking dance floors to devastating effect. Their debut album Expansion & Division is set to drop before summer 2011, with current release on Noodles Recordings & exclusive remixes being championed by the likes of: Vandera, Si Begg, Tes La Rok, 6Blocc, Jay Cunning, I.D & Freq Nasty.
